Our method
How the Bite Score works
One number out of 10, built from four things we actually care about when we're eating at a casino.
The four categories
We each rate every category from 1 to 10, agree on a number, and the site does the weighted math.
| Category | Weight | What we're asking |
|---|---|---|
| Taste | 40% | Is the food actually good? |
| Value | 25% | Worth the money (or the comp points)? |
| Service & Vibe | 20% | Friendly staff, clean room, good energy. |
| Floor-to-Fork | 15% | How easy it is to get from the slots to a seat: wait, hours, location. |
Taste counts the most because it's the reason to go. Floor-to-Fork is the casino-specific one: a great restaurant with a 90-minute wait and no reservations isn't much use when you only have a couple of hours to play.
What the scores mean
- Jackpot (9 and up)
- Big Win (8 and up)
- Nice Hit (7 and up)
- Push (5.5 and up)
- Dead Spin (under 5.5)
The rules we follow
- We pay for our own meals unless we say otherwise, right at the top of the review.
- A sponsor can pay for a video. A sponsor can never pay for a score.
- Restaurants change. When we go back, we update the score and the date.
